Sy-Klone International, a worldwide leader in the design and production of advanced precleaning and filtration systems, used in many applications including heavy equipment, mining, agriculture, fire and rescue, military, construction, demolition, waste, and forestry, is seeking a Territory Sales Manager-North America to join our team.
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for customer and distribution channel management for current and prospective customers in a specific geographic territory, primarily the United States and Canada, to ensure the achievement of territory, regional, channel, and corporate sales and profit goals. This role is responsible for driving sales growth and profitability within the assigned territory and regions, developing and maintaining solid relationships with customers, vendors, and distributors, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. Additionally, this role will supervise regional sales managers, applications, installation plans, and personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve sales targets within the assigned territory and establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
- Manage regional sales resources and personnel to achieve territory results.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Sy-Klone products and their applications in the field. Completely understand the value creation capability of each Sy-Klone product in specific mobile equipment applications.
- Ensures sales growth, identifies new prospects, and grows business to contribute to achieving corporate sales goals.
- Develops the capacity and capability of the regional sales managers responsible for covering the regions within the territory.
- Identifies and develops sales programs, product training, and support for customers, vendors, and distributors within their territory.
- Effectively present sales information and proposals as needed for corporate mining customers. Communicate and present information and plans to internal and external leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues.
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and promote our products and services.
Required Skills:
- Strong collaborator with experience working closely with sales, marketing, and product teams, supporting customers’ adoption, expertise, and installation/servicing of technical product lines.
- Good communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills, conveying complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Strong project and people management skills.
- Ability to travel 50% - 65%, including potential periodic international trips (5% -10%); expectation of semi-regular early-morning and evening digital meetings to accommodate global time zones.
- Computer skills and the capability to utilize Microsoft 365 products and CRM software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar experience required. Experience in mining, construction, industrial markets, heavy equipment, and machinery sales or service preferred.
- MSHA certification or the ability to pass certification requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 65% onsite to various customer and distribution sites, including mine sites.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to a personal vehicle.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. Strong Project Management skills and proven personnel management skills required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 lbs at times.
- Normal auditory, visual acuity, and dexterity
- May have prolonged periods of field support at various customer or vendor locations within Industrial Environments.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and other positions to provide entire field technical support.
- Normal auditory, visual acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision, ambulation, and dexterity.
