The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) role is responsible for reviewing, approving and assessing new and existing suppliers to ensure they maintain quality performance. Inform and work with suppliers regarding quality issues.
Responsibilities

Technical customer support including systematic handling of customer complaints (Q-Tools: e.g. 8 D Reports, SCAR)

Root cause analysis incl. definition of corrective and preventive action (Q-Tools: 5 Why method, Ishikawa, Kaizen).

Complaint management in regards to third party vendors including the release of non conforming materials reports and complaint follow up.

Complaint management in regards to ODU Subsidiaries including follow up of CAR/SCAR reporting.

Supplier auditing.

All other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline preferred.

4 years of relevant experience in quality engineering.

Certification or experience with ISO 19011 or similar standard.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to 85,000; however, ODU considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
