About the Position:
As a Direct Service Advocate III, you will:
- Assist with shelter screening, intake, assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking (DV/SA/ST).
- Train new shelter staff and instruct current shelter staff in training and learning opportunities.
- Coordinate community resources and perform duties in coordination with Case Managers.
- Assist Shelter Managers with data entry and monthly reports. The first week of every month will be spent primarily on data entry and reports.
Qualifications:
We value relevant qualifications and experience, but we also appreciate dedication, a passion for our mission, and a commitment to making a difference. Our Minimum Qualifications are:
- Associates degree from an accredited institution or two (2) years of experience working in social services and/or with at-risk individuals. A combination of related work experience may also be combined with AWAIC work experience and demonstrated skills applicable to this position to meet qualifications.
- Proficient use of computers and standard office equipment, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines is required.
- Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License.
