Job Description:
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients on each clinical unit as assigned, utilizing the nursing process. Patient population serviced includes both adolescents and adults. Patients are hospitalized for a broad variety of psychiatric disorders, including mood, anxiety, and thought disorders. Patients may also require treatment in specialty programming for trauma, eating disorders, and dual diagnosis (both substance abuse and psychiatric issues). This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence program.
There are currently both 8 and 12 hour shifts available on days. There is an every other weekend requirement for all nursing staff.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizing the nursing process, the RN develops an initial nursing treatment plan for each admitted patient.
- Competent in assessing, planning, and delivering care for patients with co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, and trauma backgrounds.
- Directs and participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Assists with discharge planning and works with patient at time of discharge.
- Provides leadership to other personnel in crisis behavioral management.
Job Requirements:
- RN with current licensure with the State of Michigan.
- Psychiatric experience preferred.
