The Southern California Supply Chain has an opening for Logistics Coordinator. This position is in Brea California.
This position will be responsible for a robust backhaul and reverse logistics program. Foundational to the position will be the ability to develop good rapport and establish strong relationships. The Logistics Coordinator performs administrative, analytical, clerical, and support functions in a fast-paced, high-volume office. The Logistics Coordinator works to ensure fleet drivers & transportation personnel have all pickup information and arrive to the shipper or receiver in a timely manner. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient shipping and receiving of inbound freight. Under limited supervision, you will ensure that all loads are being accepted, tracked, and booked efficiently, while maintaining a safe, clean, and well --organized logistics operation. Successful candidates will provide and implement recommendations and/or modifications to operating policies that improve service levels, while continuously reviewing cost avoidance/reduction opportunities for all assigned facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicate with appropriate teams on any pickup concerns
- Analyze and correct shipping & receiving discrepancies in appropriate business system
- Coordinates drop lot operations; interfaces with third party spotting service
- Prioritize daily workflow according to company's needs
- Be proactive and work in advance of upcoming imports
- Run reports to supply visibility to our Distribution Center operations
- Perform all data entry for shipping document creation
- Understand shipment documents in coordination with compliance
- Establish and maintain effective communications with all production and support groups, including outside groups (transportation and suppliers)
- Assist annually in the development of operation budgets and ensure budgets are met providing management with weekly budget expense tracking reports.
- Maintain records for transactions, customers' requirements, company policies & procedures.
- Participate in meetings with Supply Chain on issues impacting facilities within responsibility.
- Weekly updates on assigned projects from the logistics team
- Run and update reports as needed within various applications
- Confirming all critical deliveries are processed on time
- Assist in evaluating and resolving exception handling
- Supports in collecting and evaluating requirements, makes suggestions for changes or
- Complete logistics activity reports
- Build relationships with vendors & distribution operators to understand needs and secure utilization of assets.
- Analyze and negotiate rates based on current market prices.
- React with sense of urgency to solve problems and look for ways to improve operational inefficiencies.
- Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to book loads.
- Work with the entire operations team to provide the best customer service to customers.
- Provide detailed directions and instructions to properly route drivers to ensure on-time pick ups and delivers for customers.
- Schedule Inbound/outbound loads and appointments, communicating with a range of dispatchers (primarily via email and phone)
- Be able to multitask and provide customer service to our procurement and operations alike
- Manage assigned loads from booked to delivered status.
- Speak to fleet drivers in regard to delivery/pick up status and load details

Competitive Salaries- $60,000-75,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

- Proven experience as a logistics coordinator sourcing and coordinating backhauls
- Must be able to Navigate a TMS System
- Must demonstrate understanding of the supply chain and inventory management, including common obstacles and effective solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word and Excel)
- Working knowledge of the following applications (SSIMS, XRS, CAMS, QMF, One Network)
- Understanding of DOT regulations
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required) - minimum of 3 years Distribution/Supply Chain experience.
- Bachelor's (Preferred) - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish-English preferred
