Job Responsibilities:
- Major responsibilities include: Assisting the R&D Center team with experiments while flexing duties between cell line development as well as upstream, downstream, and analytical development through CHO cell culture procedures, purification methods, and buffer and media preparation.
- Executes cell culture, aseptic technique, analysis and assisting R&D center work.
- Support downstream bench scale production to demonstrate process performance for purification of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.
- Provide internal support, and manage method transfer to global process development and QC teams.
- Fully participating in the design and execution of experiments aimed at delivering on the Center’s vision, under the supervision of the Center Director and in collaboration with AGC Biologics PD personnel.
- Build effective working relationships with Process Development and R&D colleagues to develop new processes and products.
- Day-to-day operations required to support the work happening in the R&D Center.
- Working collaboratively with AGC Biologics Seattle PD group and Japanese R&D Center to share equipment and expertise as needed.
- Assist with the assessment and implementation of new technologies for CHO cell cultures and processing.
- Analyze and assemble data, presentations and reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Mammalian cell culture experience, especially with CHO cell lines.
- Aseptic technique working with cells and biosafety cabinets.
- Molecular biology (SDS-PAGE gels, western blots, PCR, RT-PCR, etc.).
- Experience with bioreactors and/or large scale mammalian cell culture.
- Downstream purification methods such as chromatography a plus
- Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design.
- Buffer and media preparation.
- Self-motivated, organized and proactive.
- Experience maintaining and training users on new equipment.
- Some weekend work may be required.
- Careful attention to detail in record keeping, data analysis and reporting, and maintenance of a clean and orderly work area
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in biology, biochemistry or other science-related field.
- 0-5+ years of relevant work experience in process development and/or cell culture.
- Experience purchasing, implementing, maintaining and training users on new equipment.
- Strong organizational skills as well as strong interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.
- Strong data management skills and attention to detail in the execution and documentation of studies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to integrate complex data to produce clear and accurate reports and presentations

$32.19-$44.26
