Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co., Inc. is recognized throughout the industry as a leader in the manufacturing of custom, superior quality windows and doors that can be found in some of the most visionary residences and commercial projects in North America. We are currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Supervisor.
Job Summary: This position reports directly to the EHS Manager and is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation and administration of Kolbe guidelines, initiatives, and policies relating to environmental, health and safety management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise and direct EHS Specialists (project coordination, goal setting, etc.)
- Coordinate care of injured workers and ergonomic evaluations with occupational therapists
- Maintain compliance at all Kolbe facilities with OSHA, DNR, and EPA regulations
- Assist with environmental regulatory compliance including air permitting, hazardous waste, storm water, storage tanks, etc.
- Submit annual reports to appropriate agencies (OSHA, BLS, DNR, DAPCP etc.)
- Set the annual safety training schedule and prepare training sessions
- Update and maintain the Emergency Response Plan and coordinate emergency preparedness
- Conduct facility audits and inspections for safety, PPE, machine guarding, emergency response etc.
- Coordinate services from outside security vendor
- Manage Worker’s Compensation Program
- Develop and administer incentive programs
- Establish and communicate EHS Department goals and accomplishments
- Participate in and contribute to Continuous Improvement events
- Must be available when not at work to respond to questions or emergencies
Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree related to Occupational Safety or Environmental disciplines
- Additional coursework in Public Administration, Supervisory Management, or similar is preferred
- Emergency Medical Responder Certification or ability to become certified within the first year.
Minimum Work Experience Required:
- One year in the safety field preferably in a manufacturing setting
Other Major Items to be considered:
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team-based environment
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Efforts to pursue additional education and training to expand knowledge of the EHS field.
