The successful applicant will have a remote work arrangement but must work from their primary residence within a 125-mile radius of their assigned office or the regional city (New York City or Buffalo, NY) to which they are assigned. The starting salary range for the position is $79,000 to $99,000, with an annual incentive bonus targeting 10% of the base salary.
The Business Intelligence Analyst designs, implements, and maintains dashboards, reports, tables and queries using SQL, Tableau, and other tools; Works closely with internal and external users, Executives, and all levels of the business to gather and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Advocates for the benefits of BI analytics and sound data management and governance.
- Works closely with users to define problem statements and translate business needs.
- Trains end-user community on how to understand and interpret data analysis, including predictive analytics.
- Disseminates information regarding tools, reports, and metadata enhancements.
- Creates ad-hoc reports and analyses using various tools such as Tableau, Access, Excel, and SQL.
- Synthesizes current business intelligence and trend data to support recommendations for action
- Verifies data accuracy and builds confidence in the analysis.
- Provides technical assistance and support to end-users on business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and systems; maintains a library of model documents, templates, and other reusable knowledge assets.
- Provides technical support for existing reports, dashboards, and other tools.
- Manages timely flow of information to users.
- Identifies and analyzes industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications; prepares and presents statistical reports to end-users.
- Studies underlying data, recommends analysis to improve management effectiveness and validates data sources and analysis.
- Articulates and demonstrates intermediate knowledge of arbitration sections of NYS Regulation 68 and NYS Regulation 35D related to NYSI Division's operations and tasks specific to their role and departments.
- Appropriately addresses inquiries from parties and properly directs complex inquiries as needed; Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of NYSI forms and/or related documents related to NYS Regulation 68 and/or NYS Regulation 35D and NYSI division procedures.
- Demonstrates regular, reliable, predictable job attendance.
- Attends on-site and in-person meetings and training sessions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, computer science, information systems, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 4-6 years of prior work experience involving data analysis required.
