Receptionist Job Overview
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
As the Receptionist, you are the first person people meet when they arrive at our offices, and making a good first impression is key. The Receptionist’s primary focus will be greeting guests and answering The Arc’s main phone line in a friendly and sincere manner, answering people’s questions, and providing directions to meeting and event spaces with a focus on outstanding customer service. Monitoring visitor access and following all visitor and security policies and procedures is important for the safety and security of everyone in the building, and the Receptionist is also responsible for ensuring the reception area is tidy, presentable, and stocked with all necessary stationery and materials. Sorting, scanning, and distributing mail as well as packages are also essential functions of the role.
The ideal candidate will have past work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or a similar role. Candidates must be fluent in English, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate the ability to have a professional attitude and appearance. Familiarity with office equipment and systems such as printers, scanners, copiers, and Microsoft Office products such as Word and Outlook are also important
This position operates in a professional office environment from 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and must be willing to work additional hours when requested. This position is not eligible for telework. The wage is $19.00 per hour and comes with a competitive total rewards (benefits) package.
