Position Summary
The Compliance Data Analyst is responsible for data management and reporting for the Legal and Compliance Department. This position will assist in acquiring data and compiling reporting related to compliance trending, management reporting, quality control testing, regulatory reporting, and regulatory exam requests. An individual in this position must have strong reporting and analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies related to regulatory compliance processes including quality control testing, issues management, consumer complaint management, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
- Builds and maintains relevant reporting for key compliance and data governance processes, providing actionable insights to the Compliance Committee, senior leadership, and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain logic to accurately fulfill various regulatory reporting requests related to mortgage lending and servicing data.
- Fulfills ad hoc and regularly scheduled data requests from regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage business requirements document (BRD) logic to ensure the execution of accurate loan sampling for compliance QC testing purposes.
- Evaluate the accuracy of BRD logic relative to the scope of testing and ensure change management control for the associated loan sampling criteria.
- Ascertain data necessary to ensure accuracy of QC testing sampling criteria and testing methodologies through coordination with Operational Business Units and Data Management.
- Maintain inventory of data models, sampling criteria and testing methodologies.
- Optimize statistical efficiency and quality of monthly testing samples by filtering data and extracting loan-level selections based on defined criteria.
- Facilitate the exchange of data between systems, including importing loan sampling selections into testing system (TenA Secondlook software) and exporting the testing results into the tracking and reporting system (TenA Web-based System). And facilitating ongoing maintenance and accuracy of the Secondlook Software by loading required system and licensing updates.
- Maintain compliance reporting packages; collect, organize, and manage with attention to detail and accuracy, the tracking, trending and management compliance reporting.
- Assist with implementation of and serve as admin for potential new Enterprise Governance Risk & Compliance (eGRC) platform.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to regulatory compliance and incorporates this knowledge into analytical approaches.
- Create and update procedures and process flows to accurately document compliance data reporting processes and applicable controls.
- Assist with other duties as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, finance, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Excellent proficiency in database querying and programming languages such as SQL.
- Experience using statistical modeling and analyzing datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information. with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Detail oriented and possess a high degree of organizational skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently under specific time constraints.
- Ability to work independently in a high production environment.
- Ability to understand and handle complex and diversified work.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
Desired:
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong understanding of mortgage regulations.
- Mortgage Servicing and/or Originations experience.
- Experience with Workiva or similar eGRC tool.
- MSP, BlackKnight (ICE) and/or Encompass data expertise.
