Skills / Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or the equivalent
· Experience working with children and adolescents (preferred but not required). Specific experience in helping others with autism, intellectual disabilities, etc. to learn and interact with others is appreciated.
· CPR / First Aid certified (preferred but not required)
Job Description: Behavior Technician/ Registered Behavior Technician:
1) Build positive relationships with the children and adolescents we serve.
2) Carry out programs and collect data designed by the LBA (Licensed Behavior Analyst) to build communication, personal hygiene skills, daily living skills, and problem solving. Plans are set to increase socially appropriate skills and decrease those behaviors that interfere with a child succeeding.
3) Communicate with the LBA regarding questions, program issues, and help needed.
4) Prepare session areas for the children you are working with (general preparation and items specific to the child)
5) Maintain confidentiality regarding the children we serve and the operational systems we use. Maintain HIPAA standards set.
6) Communicate with family/guardians as designated by the LBA for each child you are working with.
7) Serve and protect On The Move Pediatric Therapy clinic by adhering to professional standards, clinic policies and procedures, federal, state and local standards and requirements.
8) Maintain all required trainings (CPR, RBT – if applicable) and eligibility requirements (TB skin test, drug test, and legally able to work with children and persons with intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or mental health issues) for working at On The Move.
9) Attend required meetings as set by On The Move – clinic meetings, trainings and evaluations. Implement strategies and principles from trainings with the children we serve.
10) For behavior technicians, upon completion of the Registered Behavior Technician requirements then take the RBT test (offered and monitored through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board -BACB.com).
a. Upon earning the RBT certification it is the responsibility of the RBT to maintain this certification (certification carried out through the BACB).
11) For Registered Behavior Technicians, comply with the most up to date BACB RBT Ethics Code. Behavior technicians adhere to the BACB’s ethical requirements relevant to RBT qualifications.
12) Follow through with activities designated during administrative time (time you are allotted that is not direct sessions with individuals we serve).
