SUMMARY:
The Quality Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control processes, problem solving, detail-oriented, and a commitment to maintain high standards for product quality and consistency. This role will have ownership and responsibility of our Aluminum Plant quality standard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct and document daily audits for part and process quality. These audits can consist of a combination of QMS internal audits, inspections of raw materials, work-in-process items, and finished aluminum parts.

Review and document mis-fabrications.

Initiate root cause process for mis-fabrications and work with the Quality team to ensure all needed information is available to make rework of the mis-fabricated part a success.

Lead root cause analysis of quality deviations and process improvements and drive implementation and training of corrective actions and improvements.

Review drawings, as required, to support production on detailing or paperwork concerns. Work with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies.

Assist in developing and maintaining quality tracking metrics.

Support Quality team on document control process for procedures, work instructions, quality alerts, critical to quality forms, etc.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering, to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.

Support purchasing team on supplier product evaluation and provide feedback and communicate quality related issues to suppliers, as needed.

Quality checks for requested samples from the sales/estimating/PM groups.

Review press boxes throughout manufacturing process to ensure PB is being built to quality standards and print.

Key contact for press box inspections; this includes internal (PM walk throughs) and 3rd party inspections.

Owner of calibration program for the Algonquin plant. This will include tracking, calibrating and maintaining our calibrated tools.

ERP (CSI) support for quality KPIs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have direct supervisory duties; however, you will be required to be a leader of floor employees on quality issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology, quality assurance, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, prior relative experience that supports this role will also be considered.

Knowledge of personal computers. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Good Communication skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read and write in English.

Must be able to pass a test on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
