Lab Technician
Responsibilities
· Prepare test specimens and perform tests according to standard procedures
· Generate high quality test reports
· Work with production and engineering staff to troubleshoot non-conforming products
· Read and interpret industry test standards
· Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures for lab equipment
· Perform tasks in a timely manner
· Maintain clean and efficient lab workspaces
· Recognize changes in trends across various tests and projects
Requirements
· Experience working with lab equipment for mechanical, thermal, or chemical testing (not medical labs)
· Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a good teammate
· Attention to detail
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Windows-based computers
· Able to perform detailed, precision tasks with various hand tools such as blades, pliers, and screwdrivers
· Always looking for ways to improve the work environment and own performance
· Open to accepting and giving constructive criticism
· Safety conscious
· Able to perform mathematical calculations using Excel or a calculator
· Good communication and multitasking skills
· Able to work a flexible schedule as business needs evolve, either 1st or 2nd shift
Nice experience to have, but not required
· Ability to perform 3D modeling using SolidWorks
· Materials testing such as tensile testing, elongation, and electrical properties
· Experience molding elastomers or plastics
· Inventory management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
