CRS Industrial Power Equipment is looking for an aspiring Embedded Firmware Engineering to join our cross disciplinary R&D team. Participate in all aspects of system product development to achieve target performance and functionality. Balancing complexity and ease of use for the end users. Work independently on projects and address issues reported by field engineers. Qualifying candidates should be motivated to learn, resourceful and have a focus on problem solving.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware applications.
- Provide technical consultation and support to software inquiries.
- Evaluate requests and requirements for product features.
- Outline and define project scopes, hardware interfaces and protocols for future projects.
- Write effective documentation, application notes and user manuals for stake holders.
Requierments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Experience 2+ years is preferred. A qualifying candidate must have the following qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental C/C++
- Familiar with low-level microcontroller peripherals and architectures such as ARM Cortex
- Understanding circuit-level schematics
- Experience developing applications that use embedded operating systems (e.g. Free RTOS)
- Common embedded buses (e.g. SPI, I2C, UART)
- Standard tools for hardware debugging (e.g., Logic Analyzer, SEGGER JLink)
- Strong use of Git and common scripting languages such as Python
- Previous experience using Matlab and LabView
- Knowledge of closed-loop control systems analysis and development is strongly preferred.
- GUI interface development end-user graphical interfaces is preferred (e.g., Qt)
- Strong writing and communication skills
