Join our team as a Traffic Signal Technician where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various equipment related to signaling systems. You will utilize your expertise in mechanical knowledge, equipment repair, and electrical schematics to ensure the efficient operation of signaling devices. You will get to work on Traffic Signal Systems, RRFBs, ATMS/ITS Fiber, Lighting Systems, Pedestrian Safety.
JOB HOURS: 40-50 hrs/wk. At times must accommodate project deadlines; overtime/weekend/emergency work.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Skilled and technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems, highway lighting, and other transportation-related systems.
- Must be available for On-call duties, emergency trouble calls, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, minor signal repairs, small construction projects, locates, and cabinet set-up & testing, install pull box and read/transfer the grades, pour concrete and install pipe.
- Assist Foreman with given tasks, and training of subordinate employees/coworkers.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Responsible for maintaining and renewing required certifications and licenses.
- Provide your own transportation to and from work and/or be responsible for company-assigned vehicle if provided and typically report to work at the job site.
- Abide by all the company safety rules
- Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard for lifting operations. Each person must wear safety-toed work boots. SRT provides safety vest, work gloves, and hard hat.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Preferred High School/GED
- Preferred Minimum 3 year’s experience.
- Ability to Program & set up controllers, video detection, and communication equipment is a plus.
- Proficient at troubleshooting and repairs.
- Proficient with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient with general and specialized test equipment such as multimeter, loop analyzer, locator, controller tester, monitor tester, and other related equipment.
- Ability to operate a bucket-truck, a boom truck, concrete saw, lashing machine.
- Proficient at traffic signal wiring.
- Familiar with MUTCD, NEC, GDOT & Local specifications & standards, Customer & Project specifications/standards.
- Proficiently read plans and diagrams.
- Have an intermediate level of computer skills.
- Perform with minimum supervision.
- Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions.
- To follow and transmit clear written and verbal instructions.
- To communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with others.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, and TRAINING:
- Valid Driver’s License is preferred (CDL is a plus)
- Must have an IMSA Traffic Signal Level I or II Certification.
- Must maintain a valid medical card
- Be insurable.
- Preferred Skills & Experience With: Bucket Truck/Aerial Lift, and fall protection.Trencher, Excavation, and Utility Damage Prevention.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year
