Tax Senior / Manager for Alternative Investment Funds
Partners for Growth (PFG), an established private debt fund in the San Francisco Bay Area with a
proven track record of over 20 years, is looking for a Tax Senior or Tax Manager to join their
team. PFG manages custom debt facilities to growing technology and life science companies in the US
and worldwide. PFG is currently investing out of its seventh fund, with AUM of approximately $1B.
The Tax Senior or Manager works in collaboration with other PFG members and reports to the CFO and
Controller. Hybrid work up to 2X in the Tiburon, CA office per week.
Responsibilities
- Prepare supporting financial information for tax service providers
- Review tax returns and K-1s for all PFG entities (including Funds, GP entities and
others)
- Research on tax questions from investors and internal members and provide responses
- Prepare and file simple tax returns, as applicable
- Preparation of annual 1099s
- Handle foreign filings with service providers (Australia, Ireland, etc.)
- Perform loan portfolio accounting tasks – including maintaining loan schedules
- Assist with updating fair value of investments quarterly
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and the full financial statement closing cycle
for funds and GP entities
- Calculate, process and record capital calls and distributions
- Record and manage loan drawdowns and monthly loan invoicing and receivables
- Assist with loan schedule maintenance and calculations
- Assist with annual audits, audit confirmations
- Process fund and portfolio company expenses
- Assist on other ad hoc internal and external requests and projects
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum four years of tax compliance experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, CPA (preferred)
- Experience focused on asset management/alternative investment funds
- International tax experience a big plus
- Ability to multi-task and strong attention to details
- Excellent organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Must be able to exercise sound judgment with integrity
- Proven commitment to high quality work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and high degree of flexibility
- Highly proficient in using Quickbooks Online, Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office Suite
- A team player – able to work individually and as a team
- Eligible to work in the US
Compensation Range: $100K-$140K/year, plus room for bonus and profit sharing.
