Overview
As an Appliance Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of household appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, and dryers. Your primary objective will be to ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of appliance issues to uphold customer satisfaction and loyalty. Your secondary objective will be to sell them additional services we offer, that will benefit them and simplify their life.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
- Inspect appliances to identify the root cause of malfunctions.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint technical problems accurately.
- Assess the extent of damage or required repairs and provide estimates to customers.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems within appliances.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent future breakdowns and ensure optimal appliance performance.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and service manuals to execute repairs safely and effectively.
3. Installation and Setup:
- Install new appliances in customers' homes or businesses, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Configure settings and calibrate appliances according to manufacturer guidelines and customer preferences.
- Provide demonstrations and instructions to customers on the operation and maintenance of newly installed appliances.
4. Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and inquiries.
- Offer recommendations and advice on appliance care, usage, and energy efficiency.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers to foster loyalty and encourage repeat business.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Document all service activities, including diagnoses, repairs, parts used, and service charges.
- Prepare detailed reports and service logs for internal records and billing purposes.
- Provide feedback to management on recurring issues, trends, or opportunities for improvement.
- Make additional notes of services offered or suggested.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing repairs and installations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling procedures for hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in appliance repair.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training and/or certification in appliance repair is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Appliance Repair Technician or similar role.
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to lift and maneuver heavy appliances.
- Commitment to upholding quality standards and achieving customer satisfaction.
- Consistent and detailed documentation of service calls and transactions.
