Hi! We are a pediatric practice with two locations (Renton and Kent) seeking a certified medical assistant to work in both the front and back office. This job will be in Renton and Kent. Four or Five days per week and one weekend per month. Pay is contingent upon experience.
Qualifications
- Capable of comprehending, executing and acting under the direction of multiple healthcare practitioners.
- Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure is essential. Also, must be able to function effectively in an environment where it is necessary to perform several tasks simultaneously, including demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-line phones.
- Possesses excellent customer service and patient care skills. Interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of patients, operations staff, physicians, and others.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with the physical and emotional development of all age groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in oral and written form, in the English language.
Unique Job Functions
1. Ensures efficient patient flow, preparing charts, rooming patients
2. Obtains vital signs and chief complaints
3. Performs venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood withdrawal if required.
4. Maintains/operates CBC, cholesterol, lead machines
5. Stocks and sanitizes rooms
6. Vaccine storage and monitoring
7. Performs intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections for diagnostic agents and administer skin tests
8. Performs intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections for therapeutic agents
9. Applies, or assists with application of, durable medical equipment
10. Administers SQ, IM and ID medications as ordered by the physician
11. Administers immunizations
12. Assists with biopsy, excision of lesions
13. Performs tympanograms, and ear irrigations(with Provider order)
14. Performs eye care, eye patching and eye irrigation
15. Performs laceration set-up, wound dressing application and suture/clip removal
16. Collects urine and stool cultures, performs UA dip, CBC, mono screen, strep screen, COVID-19 testing, lead testing, cholesterol testing
17. Gives standardized instructions to patients
18. Covers front desk duties as needed– including; scheduling patient appointments, entering patient information into the database, obtaining managed care referrals and appropriate insurance information.
19. Utilizes computer to maintain EMR.
20. Documenting patient vaccine records
21. Patient/parent phone calls, transcribes messages and deals with pharmacies
22. Front office duties including but not limited to scanning, faxing, phone calls, checking patients in, verifying insurance, allocating received faxes, medical records, confirming appointments and making new appointments, etc
