The Operations Director is responsible for the direction, management and monitoring of clinic operations at all centers within the designated region. Oversees operational activity at the centers, responsible for continuing improvement in operational and clinical quality. Accountable for business growth, strategic goals implementation, regulatory compliance and fiscal viability of Clinic operations. Primary focus is achievement of long and short-term performance goals, patient satisfaction, and driving a culture focused on high-quality health care and service excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads, executes, and monitors the successful implementation of the organization’s operating and strategic plans. Attention is to be given to profit initiatives, patient satisfaction, process improvement, quality and safety, professional image, fiscal management, national and local regulatory compliance, favorable clinical outcomes, provider relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building.
2. Manages operations of assigned centers to ensure health, safety and positive experience of patients and staff. Conducts site visits on a routine basis to assist individual Center leadership with operating issues and to monitor quality of programs and operations. Provides direct support to the assigned centers through evaluations, on-site visits, and monthly operational reviews. Acts as an interim Practice Manager as needed.
3. Works with Business Office to ensure processes are in place to ensure information relating to insurance plans are in place at selected sites.
4. Creates innovative facility-specific delivery model to foster positive patient experiences and ensure patient retention. Reviews patient satisfaction surveys to check for trends of any unfavorable operational practice or issue and implement corrective action; assures that overall patient satisfaction survey is at 94% or above for the assigned centers in designated region. Present to others via telephone or directly in a personal and professional manner.
5. In coordination with Development and Marketing department, establishes a best in class promotion and outreach plan that reaches targeted populations quickly and effectively, drives new market share, and supports growth. Creates innovative community linkages with regional community organizations and business partners to advance the CommuniCare Brand and market share. Ensures that the CommuniCare Brand is strong and consistent with every organization’s marketing tactic.
6. Participates in the development and monthly review of assigned center’s budget and staffing patterns appropriate for patient care and flow. Ensures appropriate financial controls are in place and centers are adjusting to census fluctuations.
7. Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and disciplining of staff. Develops comprehensive orientation for all new operational staff.
8. Advocates for the centers in designated region and serves as liaison to local and state professional societies, as well as to government officials, external organizations, and health institutions, as appropriate. Responsible for the maintenance of business relationship with community and business partners.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum six (6) years experience in the healthcare field
Minimum five (5) years management experience
Demonstrated ability in health care administration, with business acumen, including a well-developed ability to assess operational problems or barriers and present positive, creative solutions and alternatives
Extensive knowledge of and experience in information management systems
Demonstrated expertise in third party reimbursement policies and procedures
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Ability to travel to sites, seminars, workshops and conferences
