We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Assists residents in maintaining a clean, neat and safe environment; this includes, but is not limited to, assuring that the residence will pass safety and environmental inspections.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication under the supervision of a nurse.
- Provides each person with support and supervision to acquire appropriate functional life skills and successful integration in the community. This includes, but is not limited to, assuring participation in residential and community-based activities. Staff shall encourage communication with family and friends.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their well-being.
- Completes required documentation for all shifts in Agency database system prior to the end of the shift, including but not limited to goal data, behavior data, seizure charts, bowel movement charts, activity logs, and incident reports.
- Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- One or more years of experience in Human Services, DDA, Healthcare, or other related fields.
- Valid full driver's license.
- Experience in providing care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or in healthcare related fields.
- Active Certified Medication Technician license (MBON) and DDA-related trainings preferred, but not required.
