Job Title: Senior Education Researcher
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Senior Education Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with subject matter experts to apply learning science theory and practices, data analysis, and psychometric methods for assessment to be applied in the design and development of engaging and effective learning experiences. Your expertise in modeling relevant data, simulations, case studies, and asynchronous experiential approaches will be instrumental in developing high-quality training content.
Responsibilities:
- Quantitative & Qualitative Data Methodologies: Apply educational and social scientific methods, including Data Generation, Analysis, and Reporting.
- Learning Science Theory: Familiarity with basic learning science and practices in modern learning, including the role of assessments, and the use of experiential learning.
- Integrating Learning Design: Proficiency in the integration of learning experiences into real-world contexts, including mentoring, train-the-trainer approaches, on-the-job training, community-driven training, and practice-driven approaches.
· Psychometric Methods for Assessment: Experience in both developing assessment instruments and improving instruments, and familiarity with use cases for Assessment in Adult Training, including, but not limited to, traditional assessment cases, observations, rubrics, peer assessment, self-assessment, and assessment-as-learning (AaL) frameworks.
- User Experience Research & Testing: Leverage UX Research approaches, including product testing, observations, tree testing, card sorting, interviews, focus groups, cognitive walkthrough, appreciative inquiry, HEART analysis, and any number of other UX-field-specific approaches.
- Literature Review: Proficiency in culling existing literature for trends in adult learning and training and synthesizing those trends into meaningful reports and/or white papers.
· Presentation Experience: Experience presenting UX findings to both technical and lay audiences, with emphasis on the relationship between user experiences and business priorities.
Qualifications:
· East Coast Core Hours of 9am to 3pm EST
· Reliable high-speed internet connection.
· Master’s degree or higher in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, or other related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
· Minimum 7 years of experience working in research, adult learning, data science, or related fields.
· Adult Learning Theory & Design: Familiarity with basics of adult learning theory and adult training, including proficiency implementing learning frameworks such as Problem-Based Learning, Praxis-Based Approaches to Learning, Community-Driven Learning, Personalized Learning, and Daily Learning for Adults.
· Experiential Learning Expertise: Familiarity with experiential and user-centered learning methodologies, and UX research approaches.
· Collaborative Skills: Ability to work closely with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams including strong facilitation and analysis skills.
- Creativity and Innovation: Bring fresh ideas to enhance learning experiences.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and consistency in the research, development, and presentation of findings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with learning science, user experience research, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with and proficiency implementing adult learning design frameworks.
- Knowledge of learning management systems and training delivery platforms.
- Familiarity with major learning theorists such as Kolb, Fink, Barr & Tagg, as well as the adult training and learning works of the work of Malcolm Knowles, Cyril Houle, Albert Bandura.
