As a Controller at Northwest Partitions, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and completing all accounting and administrative operational functions in conjunction with our AP/Payroll Specialist. This is a hands-on position requiring top-notch communication, analytical, organizational and management skills, along with knowledge of GAAP. You'll be responsible for managing all financial data, handling tax submissions, processing client billings, managing cash flow, and administering employee benefits programs. The Controller supports internal and external clients with first-class service and professionalism and works closely with Northwest Partitions’ President and CEO.
#### Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting and administrative operational functions.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements.
- Manage general ledger and perform month-end close.
- Process project invoices, pay apps, and lien releases to ensure solid cash flow.
- Provide management with critical decision-making information.
- Assess and improve current accounting operations.
- Evaluate and enhance accounting and internal control systems.
- Train and retain a skilled accounting and administrative team.
- Prepare and file city, state, and federal taxes; liaise with outside CPA for income tax returns.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manage client billings, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
- Conduct research and resolve priority accounting issues.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare accurate reports.
- Coordinate activities of external auditors.
- Optimize office operations for efficiency.
- Oversee payroll/accounts payable specialist.
- Administer various employee benefit programs.
- Assist with general liability and banking relationships.
- Support new employee onboarding.
#### Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting best practices, GAAP, job costing, WIP, and percentage complete method.
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and team player mentality.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, shifting priorities environment.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and confidentiality.
