Job Description:
Full-Time, Operating and maintaining the Kapowsin Quarry crushing plant which includes cone crushers, screen decks, and wash deck screw.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform daily equipment and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
- Safely and properly perform maintenance on crushers, screen decks, and conveyors, including screen changes and routine maintenance.
- Safely and properly operate crushing plant including screens, wash plant and conveyors.
- Shovel excess material away from crushers, screen, or wash plant unit as needed.
- Communicate effectively with others verbally, listening, and written.
- Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive and respectful relations with others.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
- Monitor and discuss production issues with co-workers and managers.
- Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
- Accurately complete crushing reports and other documentation as needed.
- Ensure MSHA, EPA, OSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills:
- Safety oriented, able to comply with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards.
- Must be able to follow directions and work without close supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with other miners.
- Heavy equipment operating skills preferred.
- This is a safety sensitive position that is regulated by MSHA. Pre-employment drug testing and health testing do apply to be eligible for hire.
Education/Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience working in a jaw, cone crusher, screening and conveying operation.
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver’s license
- Proper paperwork to document that you are authorized to work in the US
- Pass Pre-employment drug test and background check.
Physical Demands:
- Regular business hours are 5am-5pm M-F and likely half day Saturdays but working shift hours do vary. This position is not seasonal and is year-round.
- This job is physically demanding including: standing, sitting, manual dexterity, climbing stair and ladders, working on elevated platforms throughout the shift.
- Lift heavy objects (up to fifty (50) pounds) during the shift.
- Working outside in all kinds of weather.
- Attention to Safety when working in and around plant equipment and quarry environment.
