Position Details:
- Title: Test Engineer II - Systems/Structures
- Location: Tustin, CA
- Compensation: $75-$95 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Design comprehensive test plans and equipment for validating intricate mechanical or structural components and systems.
- Develop elegant solutions to overcome task challenges.
- Author technical documents and contribute to the creation of test plans and procedures.
- Work independently with minimal guidance, determining and implementing effective solutions.
- Lead small projects, managing risks and resources effectively.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Interface with internal customers to establish and verify specific test requirements.
- Coordinate materials for team meetings and reviews.
- Collaborate with support teams and vendors for procurement, manufacture, and assembly of test articles and equipment.
- Identify and bid on outside contracts for suppliers/equipment providers.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of testing practices, including processes, lab procedures, and technology implementation.
- • Ensure the durability, reliability, and safety of assigned scope.
- Review major decisions or scope changes with Technical/Project Lead.
- Perform limited analysis and document peer review authority.
- Coordinate with other disciplines.
- Fulfill required employee responsibilities (training, timesheets, performance sheets, etc.).
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in systems or structures testing or design.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- Strong knowledge of college classes related to aircraft or spaceship design and analysis.
- Familiarity with composites and metallic primary structures.
- Results-oriented approach to completing test activities successfully.
- Applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctorate from an ABET-accredited institution
- CAD Modelling Experience – 3DX or CATIA v5 Preferred.
- Background in structural or systems testing.
- Fixture Design and Analysis.
- Vibration fixture modal analysis.
- Experience with DO-160 environmental test standards for mechanical systems.
- Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA highly desired.
- Certified LabVIEW associate developer or higher certification.
- Computer programming experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $156,000.00 - $197,600.00 per year
