Job Overview:
Provide technical assistance during business hours to computer system users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person or from remote location. Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word-processing, email, and operating systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluate computer system user requests
- Conduct end user support
- Report outages to level 2 staff
- Communicate technical information during support calls
- Conduct computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems
- Maintain or repair computers or related equipment
- Read and understand computer equipment operating manuals
- Roll out prebuilt computer or printers to end user
- Provide technical support to computer users
- Use spreadsheet software
- Test computer programs or systems
- Support end user Microsoft programs, Office, Windows.
Tasks include:
- Work in Kolbe support desk ticketing system, resolve tickets within defined service level.
Take tickets from the task system in the order they are submitted or by urgency.
Assign tickets to other members of IT and IT Vendors, work with level 2 team members if need to resolve task.
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Work with Kolbe team member to determine what is needed from support question
- Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Maintain record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
- Test and monitor software, hardware, and peripheral equipment to evaluate use, effectiveness, and adequacy off product for user.
- Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
- Follow Standard of Work documentation that is defined by the Infrastructure team and documentation
- Other duties that are assigned by Infrastructure Manager
Education and Work Experience
- Associate degree in IT
- Two years of related experience preferred.
