Assistant General Manager
Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Job Summary: Oversee daily activities on hotel property, including but not limited to front desk operations, guest service, reservations, concierge, and beach activities. Oversees property maintenance and appearance. Resides on the hotel property and responds to emergencies in the absence of the General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
· Works to enforce policies and directives issued by the General Manager’s office
· Acts as a liaison between department heads and administration. Works closely with F&B and maintenance to meet objectives
· Creates and reviews daily assignments
· Focuses more energies towards FOH operations, dealing more with guest relations and human resources – assures service standards are being met
Lead and directs the work of others
· Resolves customer complaints and concerns
· Scheduling of front office, activities, marine
· Handles hiring, coaching and counseling of front office, activities, and marine division
· On call duties. Nighttime / weekend presence. After hours emergencies
· Knowledge of infrastructure – generators, water pumps, sewage treatment
· Knowledge of front desk, reservations, F&B
· Works closely with General Manager and Managing Director to ensure company goals are met
Qualifications:
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the Hotel and Hospitality Industry preferred.
- Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least 5 years of management experience
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash resister or POS system
- Proven skills – required for each department
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand primary language used in work place
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50lbs
- Be able to work up to 50 hours a week as needed

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
