Assistant General Counsel–Lombard
The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant General Counsel in the IASB Office of General Counsel. This position reports to the IASB General Counsel and will be headquartered in the Association’s Lombard office.
Position Summary: The Assistant General Counsel assists the Associate General Counsels in the provision of legal services to IASB and the Executive Director, legal information and services to Association members, and support services to the Illinois Council of School Attorneys (ICSA). Functions of the position include creating and maintaining material used by the Policy Services Department, development of course materials and providing training for school board development, providing support to the Governmental Relations and Communications Departments, ensuring the continuity and success of ICSA, maintaining current knowledge on school and association law, among other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements: Juris Doctor degree and licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois; two to five years of legal experience, preferably in school law or with a demonstrated interest in school law.

The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement are provided.
