JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
- Holds an active Registered Nurse license and is eligible to practice in the state of Kentucky.
- Current BLS certification required
Minimum Work Experience
- Able to provide nursing care including, but not limited to: Administering medications and treatments, assisting with in –office procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing education to patients and the families of patients as required,

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General Duties

Essential Job Functions
- Serves in a leadership capacity among coworkers by providing instruction, guidance, and encouragement as appropriate.
- Practices holistic nursing with an overall emphasis on positive patient outcomes following clinical encounters.
- Provides education regarding care and follow-up instructions to patients and family members when required that is clear, detailed, and accurate.
- Gathers and records pertinent patient information including medical history, medication information, and diagnostic reports related to the patient's care needs.
- Uses knowledge and training to perform age and gender appropriate assessments of patients that are accurate and complete.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the safe and accurate administration of medications or treatments as ordered by a health care provider.
- Consistently maintains infection control practices, including but not limited to: disinfection of patient care areas, instrument sterilization, hand washing, and appropriate use of PPE.
- Once competency and training is complete may apply or remove extremity casts and splints, and remove fixators.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers as needed in order to ensure continuity of care.
- Assists management with trouble shooting and quality improvement assessments as needed.
- Appropriately redirects concerns or questions that arise regarding practice and patient care PRN.

- Explains appropriate paperwork for treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Follows policies regarding consent for treatment and release of medical information regarding a minor or a person who is unable to make medical decisions for themselves.
- Demonstrates appropriate awareness for suspected abuse and/or neglect to report them according to protocol.
- Identifies and plans for appropriate safety precautions to be taken to prevent injury to the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
