Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Credentialing and Contracting Specialist. The Credentialing and Contracting Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all healthcare providers meet the necessary qualifications and credentials required by regulatory agencies and managed care organizations.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers
- Verify and validate provider information, including licenses, certifications, education, and work history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files and databases
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with medical office standards and regulatory requirements
- Communicate with providers and external organizations to obtain necessary documentation and resolve any credentialing issues
- Assist in the preparation of reports and audits related to credentialing activities
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and managed care requirements
- Provide support to other departments as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience in medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with credentialing processes and managed care organizations is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications
