Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) is a critical access hospital. It is also a hospital district facility, which is a quasi-government hospital whose board is appointed by the Governor of Florida. It operates twenty-five inpatient beds. MCMH generates approximately $19,000,000 in revenue each year and employs about 100 full-time staff.
MCMH is located about five miles north of Interstate-10, approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida. Madison is the county seat of a county with a population of approximately 20,000. The county’s economic base is agriculture, State correctional facility, school district, local government and small retail.
Job Description
Assures that high quality patient care is being performed meeting hospital standards of quality and safety. Ensures and enforces compliance of employees to hospital policies and procedures during his or her shift. Notifies appropriate administrative staff of any event or out-of-the ordinary occurrence that is not standard practice at the hospital. Adheres to, and require employee adherence to, the MCMH Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Provides direct patient care; manages human and other resources to attain clinical and operational goals. Communicates effectively with physicians, employees, patients and visitors. Performs specific duties and skills as defined in the hospital’s job specific competency test. Effectively teaches and mentors other employees less experienced, knowledgeable or skillful than him/her. Epitomizes the professional nurse, in all ways. Recognizes and responds to system and process failures.
Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Licensed by the Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered nurse (RN).
3. Current CPR.
4. ACLS (within first 3 month of hire) and PALS credential (6 months of hire)
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. 1-3 years medical/surgical nursing experience is preferred.
