General Description:
As an Electronics Engineering Technician, you will construct and test prototypes of electronic devices and systems, particularly focusing on circuit boards and electronic control systems. You'll also build, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components, applying principles of electronics, engineering mathematics, and physics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Champion:
- Optimize safety and minimize risk.
- Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to safety precautions, especially with high voltage electronic systems.
2. Technical Proficiency:
- Read and understand electronic and hydraulic schematics.
- Work with PLC/Ladder Logic and blueprints.
- Understand operator interfaces, machine manuals, and equipment operation.
- Comply with OSHA, state, and township codes.
- Use 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and technical documents.
3. Process and Technology:
- Develop processes for constructing and testing prototypes of electronic systems or components.
- Construct prototypes based on technical requirements.
- Create work instructions for the construction and testing of electronic systems or components.
- Provide customer support on technical questions.
- Conduct tests and assessments of electronic systems to ensure quality.
- Properly utilize and store all equipment.
- Collaborate with operators and outside vendors.
- Manage orders for consumables and spare parts.
- Service, repair, calibrate, and test electronic machines and devices.
- Support automation and process improvement projects requiring electronics expertise.
4. New Equipment/Modifications:
- Fabricate, install, and move equipment.
- Calculate and layout electronic and mechanical parts.
- Design electronic controls and panel wiring.
- Write and edit program code.
- Validate equipment operation.
- Train operators on new equipment.
- Create 3D parts and drawings with SolidWorks.
- Resolve design or operational problems through collaboration.
5. Maintain Work Area:
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
