JOB SUMMARY:
The duties of the Dental Assistant position include assisting with procedures under the direct supervision of a dentist, providing prophylaxis and sealants, exposing radiographs, taking impressions and pouring models, along with many other expanded functions.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Treat patients promptly and with courtesy
- Adhere to Universal Precautions at all times
- Cleanse and sterilize instruments
- Prepare equipment and assist dentist during treatment and examination of patient
- Help maintain efficient patient flow
- Answer telephone and messages in a timely manner
- Answer patient questions as needed
- Clean all exam rooms at the end of shift
- Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited program for Dental Assistants with certificate including Expanded Functions
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Understand and strive to maintain Teamwork
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with health care teams
- Ability to work well with others
