UniversalMed Supply is looking for a full time Medical Equipment Delivery and Service Technician to join our Field Operations Department. This position is responsible for processing delivery, service, and repair orders for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), primarily power wheelchairs specifically.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembling seating and mobility power chairs equipment per factory and clinical specifications
- Delivers power mobility equipments as directed by Branch operations and Field leaders to include fitting, instruction, compliance, and customer service requirements
- Working with manufacturers’ tech support to troubleshoot and identify required parts for repairs
- Visiting client’s homes to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic and/or mechanical components for mobility equipment, in multiple and various environments to include branch, field, clinic, and care homes etc.
- Responsible for delivering expedited orders when necessary and handling intermittent on call duties
- Provides inventory control and counts for all custom, special orders and stock items processed in the branch
- Working with customer service team to coordinate daily routes and coordinate order processing
- Completing necessary documents in a timely and accurate manner
QUALIFICATIONS
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Strong technical equipment skills
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have the ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or GED
- Flexible working hours and ability to work an on call for emergency calls when scheduled (if necessary)
- DME Delivery knowledge preferred
