Summary:
The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting team with a wide range of accounting functions and bookkeeping tasks. This role requires a range of financial, accounting, and administrative/organizational skill levels, from routine monthly tasks and reconciliations to complex analyses and special projects. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively analyzing and communicating key data, and the ability to balance day-to-day priorities with long-term goals and projects.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
-
5 + year’s experience in financial accounting with at least 2 years in a senior role
- 3 + year’s overseeing accounting team members

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Essential Functions:
Ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting of the Company’s consolidated financial results. This includes periodic (monthly, quarterly and annually) processing financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. Prepare, analyze, and reconcile a variety of other financial reports as required by management, as well as periodic reports and certifications to financial institutions. Reports include profit and loss, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and covenant compliance certificates.

Ensure monthly financial results are adequately processed, reviewed, analyzed, interpreted, and findings and related implications of this process are effectively communicated to appropriate members of management

Review detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support management in the review of the monthly operating performance

Reviews monthly reports for key indicators and statistics

Develop, refine, document, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the accounting department and the Company in general

Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved

Assists with financial information requests and questions

Complete special projects as needed

Proficiency in Excel and in accounting software systems, experience with Intacct a plus

Ability to oversee a team of 2-5 accounting team members

Job Type: Full-time, salaried at $85,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience
