Position Summary:
Responsible for packing boxes with correct quantity and quality product into boxes.
Essential Functions:
- Packs correct quantity into boxes.
- Identifies and disposes of defective items.
- Follows all company guidelines regarding packaging.
- Pulls, packs, weighs, and labels products based on daily orders.
- Ensures all packages are properly packaged and sealed.
- Meets the specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.
- Keeps products separated, organized, and accessible.
- Monitors product quality and reports any problems or discrepancies.
- Operates various pieces of equipment properly (i.e. hand tools, glues, padding, dolly, pallet wrapper, palletizer, and pallet jacks).
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knows and follows proper office and GMP safety protocols; knows and follows Company’s grooming, hygiene and dress code policies including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.
Requirements:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 6 months of experience in a similar industry or role preferred.
- General understanding of packing procedures.
- Basic knowledge and competency in arithmetic and able to identify dates.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Great communication skills in English.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
- Must have physical dexterity of hands and fingers.
Work Environment:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
- The job will occasionally require lifting / carrying / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- This job will require work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
- This job may require extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed, to meet customer requirements.
- This job will require standing in one position long periods of time.
