First Meridian Services is searching for a creative and motivated sous chef to join our talented kitchen team! In this position, you will be following and enforcing our executive chef’s requirements and guidelines. You should have excellent leadership and communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner
- Ensure that food is up to company standards and that kitchen is in good condition
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
- Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations
- Manage the kitchen team in the executive chef's absence
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to pass a 10-year criminal background check
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
May frequently need to work holidays, weekends, and nights. Hours will vary depending on the business and staffing needs. Be able to work on your feet for long periods of time (up to 12 hours). Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs., as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion
