River Grove Elementary is seeking candidates for a Part-Time Physical Education/DAPE Teacher for the 24-25 school year!
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of nature- based learning
Creativity with a willingness to teach in a complete outdoor setting for majority of school day/year
A love of nature, the outdoors and the historical/nature qualities of the area
Collaborative, team player who is willing to contribute to a small, growing school
Current Minnesota Licensure or ability to obtain by August 2024.
DAPE License is a plus but not required.

River Grove is a public charter school serving students in grades K-5, located in the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.
Our incredible campus setting, on 73 acres of wooded and lake property, is utilized on a daily basis to provide a unique learning program that emphasizes the outdoors and place-based learning. Project-based learning is also incorporated in each classroom.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Education teacher is responsible for organizing innovative games and challenges that promote physical activity among all students at River Grove. The goal is to develop motor skills, physical development, proper exercise, and eating habits among all students.
The teacher must know about healthy life practices and use everyday relevant situations to teach these practices, must be creative and resourceful in using school space and limited resources to provide physical activities, and be flexible and engaging as an instructor for students from multiple grade levels.
IMPORTANT QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE INCLUDE: Flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness, enthusiasm for teaching and learning, organized, with strong classroom systems and management skills.
Experience with Outdoor and Place-Based Education HIGHLY desired as school is located in the middle of the forest in Northern Washington County!
