Under minimal supervision, Senior Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician must be able to demonstrate expert level skills to communicate, repair and conduct preventative maintenance on production line equipment in accordance with the manufacture’s manuals, diagrams, sketches, etc. When references are not available, they should consult with engineering experts. The production line equipment includes but not limited to automated case packers, palletizers, labeler, hot fill, and blow mold.
Responsibilities:
· Perform expert level root cause analysis and preventative maintenance. This includes and is not limited to:
a. Observing equipment in operation to locate root cause of problem, dismantling
equipment, examining parts for any imperfections, replacing, or repairing
defective parts, adjusting parts or control module, troubleshooting of the
electrical circuitry and mechanical system of equipment, and reconditioning and
repairing machine tools.
· Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary.
· Evaluate and consider alternatives to improve cost and longevity of equipment.
· Independently perform maintenance on equipment as per industry standards.
· Coordinate with production planningto optimize preventative maintenance procedures.
· May be required to set up and operate multiple machining and fabricating tools including but not limited to: Lathe, drill press, grinder, and welder.
· Ability to performing welding tasks.
· Leads, drives, and participates in CI (Continuous Improvement) activities – focus point being processes, results and cost savings using CI tools and methodology.
· Provides assistance to other technicians and exhibits leadership over project teams.
· Complete production line change overs based on packaging requirements.
· Install and maintain PLC’s, Servo motors and drives, HMI’s, robotic assembly equipment etc.
· Perform high level trouble shooting and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/hardware and configuration problems including but not limited to: PLC, AC drives, DC drives, pneumatics, servomotors, and Robotics.
· Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
· Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Updates E-Maint or similar records, reviews, provides analysis and makes recommendations for improvement.
· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by performing general housekeeping, complying to GMP, SQF, LOTO and safety standards.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree with technical focus and 5 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 7 years of experience in specific industry.
· Must take initiative to quickly troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, air compression, hydraulics, liquid compression, electrical system, and automation system issues as they arise.
· Experience in predictive technologies, precision alignments and general maintenance of applicable process equipment
· Understands electrical mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
· Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
· Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precisions alignments and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
· Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, diagnostics, electrical systems, refrigeration systems, hydraulic systems, air distribution systems.
Have an understanding of converting AC to DC
Experience in working with a PLC
