Title: Lead Inspector
The Inspector’s primary responsibility will be to perform incoming, in-process, 1st article and final inspections, related to components and products, and can record and maintain accurate clear records of data recorded during inspection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct Detailed Inspections:
- Inspect components and assemblies at various production phases.
- Use mechanical measurement equipment and visual references.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and material specifications.
2. Material Inspection:
- Inspect incoming, final, and in-process parts.
- Approve or reject raw materials based on quality standards.
- Maintain records of supplier performance.
3. Tool Calibration and Maintenance:
- Ensure only calibrated inspection tools are used.
- Handle tools appropriately to prevent damage.
4. Record Keeping:
- Maintain records of testing, information, and metrics (e.g., defective products per day).
5. Work Prioritization and Communication:
- Prioritize work assignments to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate workload status to department lead.
6. Team Interaction:
- Collaborate effectively with peers and internal stakeholders (Engineers, Purchasing, Manufacturing Associates).
7. Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Take responsibility for safety within the work area.
- Document nonconforming material accurately.
8. Departmental Growth and Support:
- Assist in the continuous growth of the Quality Department.
- Participate in team meetings (e.g., safety, problem-solving).

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Thorough knowledge and use of Micrometers, Calipers, Thread & Pin Gauges, Surface Plates and Height Gauges
- 3+ years’ experience in precision inspection and quality systems, in a manufacturing environment
- Performing in-process production inspections, final inspections, as well as approving incoming materials & outside processing
- Inspections are performed in accordance with ISO9000 and using ISO9000 procedure and forms
- 3+ years’ experience in precision inspection and quality systems, in a manufacturing environment
- Familiar with ISO standards a plus.
