Our Batch Cook Operators are part of a team responsible for daily preparation and making all of our wonderful sauces. Weighing, mixing and heating ingredients; pumping the sauce into the assigned production line, maintaining the proper sequence according to schedule; sanitation of all equipment; ensuring all food is segregated for allergens. Team members will multi-task, work quickly and efficiently, heating sauce in kettles then pumps over to the food manufacturing lines based on daily schedule. Responsibilities include:
- Weigh wet ingredients and spices according to recipes; verify lot number is placed on barrel, or storage container being used after weighing product for the liquefier dumper.
- Ensure all materials are being stored properly, segregating allergens and non-allergens.
- Date, Initial, and store materials in cooler, freezer, and/or hot box as defined by company policy and procedure once opened.
- Rotate stock and report any ingredient or spice that is getting low;
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality guidelines; following all GMP’s and wearing all required PPE.
- Responsible for daily sanitation of cooking operation areas ensuring food safety compliance by completing EOD checklist daily.
Communicate with all team members ensuring we are meeting production requirements, in the correct sequence, to the proper kettles.
- Responsible for outstanding customer service to all interior and exterior customers;
- Acts in a stewardship capacity for the Company, works as a functional member of the team, self-direct and self-regulate work-day;
Hours:
- Overnight Shift 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday to Thursday, Fridays during busy season.
Pay: $18-$20 hourly & weekly pay!
Requirements:
- One year of recent cooking and mixing experience;
- Food manufacturing experience and food safety knowledge is a must.
- Extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the kitchen environment, specifically, food preparation knowledge, and good math skills;
- Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines;
- Physical Requirements: must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; have the ability to bend, stoop, twist repetitively and stand on concrete for the full shift; able to work in a cold or high-heat environment as seasons change. This work is physically demanding and will require the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups, in addition require repetitive overhead lifting. Team members must have attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Must understand English and able to communicate both verbally and written; ability to translate in Spanish is a plus.
