The Stockroom Utility Operator is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient stockroom, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and inventory control.
- Prepare and distribute materials and supplies to various departments as requested.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe stockroom environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Assist with stockroom audits and inventory management tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve stockroom processes and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a stockroom or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification is a plus).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary.
