Summary/Objective
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for building effective relationships with relevant customers to position DALB as a preferred partner of printed and thermoformed specialty materials. This position Identifies growth areas and creates demand to expand DALB’s revenue and market prescience. The BDM will be responsible for meeting all new business growth targets by selling current capabilities and products to new customers and by steering DALB’s new product and capability expansion efforts.
Essential Functions
- Hands on Contributor
- Understand and articulate both short and long term customer needs; including material requirements, application needs, new product introductions and new business opportunities.
- Gains credibility and the customers trust across multiple disciplines including sourcing, design, engineering, manufacturing and strategic leadership.
- Proposes solutions based on Customer needs and DALB’s MFG capability.
- Develops a robust pipeline of new business opportunities for DALB by direct and indirect sales channels.
- Collaborates with DALB’s Engineers to support the specification and design process for new products or applications
- Develop materials and technology expertise through immersion into networking, industry events, relevant publications, and continued education.
- Evaluates, assesses and reports market and industry trends, competitor intelligence, and technology gaps.
- Leverages market and industry trends and the customers unmet needs to identify opportunities that differentiate DALB’s products and drive new opportunities.
- Identify and establish strategic relationships with industry customers and suppliers
- Responsible for identifying and qualifying all new business opportunities
- Maintain appropriate records, metrics and documentation
- Educates direct and indirect customers about DALB and our services
- Prepare quarterly status reports with updated analysis on new sales to budget, new projects, market trends, competitive advantages and disadvantages
- Maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers, industry leaders, suppliers, and teammates
- Evaluate and manage new business opportunities, initiatives, and partnerships
- Serves as an account manager for assigned opportunities
- Advises executive leadership on status or actions required for existing and potential business development opportunities
- Develops and administers schedules, opportunity pipeline, account plans and is responsible for budgets.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 10 years of business development experience
- Knowledge of major industry competitors
- Successful experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities
- Successful experience building and managing a territory
