Desert Wind Winery, located in Prosser, WA, is seeking Harvest Cellar workers for the upcoming 2024 harvest. We are a small passionate team seeking candidates who are motivated and willing to learn all aspects of wine production, in our 40,000+ case facility. This is a temporary position that typically lasts from mid August to early December. Prior winery experience is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience. The position will offer training in all aspects of wine production.
Job duties:
- Primarily preforming pump overs, punch downs, dig outs on fermenting red wine tanks
- Cleaning and sanitizing all crush equipment including tanks, bins, pumps, hoses, etc.
- General maintenance and cleaning the facility on daily basis
- Additions/inoculations to grape must/juice
- Work seven days a week if requested
- Must follow all safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow written or verbal instruction
- Must be able to perform physical tasks such as walking/standing for several hours, shoveling pomace from tanks, and able to lift over 70 lbs.
- Must be able to work extended hours when needed (8-12 hours per day, up to 7 days per week)
- Previous harvest or wine experience preferred
Job duration is dependent on vintage.
