Job Summary:
Maintaining our facilities is an important function within this organization and requires the cooperation and coordination of the Porter. The condition of our Facilities is directly reflected on the survey questions as being “clean and in good order" and indirectly reflected under First Impressions, Attention to Detail, we are looking for a Day Porter to maintain outside grounds, and common areas of our building. Tasks will include mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and emptying trash. Also service the parking area and restrooms. During certain seasons, will need to clear walkways leading up to the building. Need to know basic repair skills and landscaping. The ideal candidate is someone who will take pride in keeping the building beautiful, clean, and comfortable for all visitors. Applicants should have some professional cleaning experience or be familiar with cleaning products, tools, mowers, blowers, edgers and landscaping equipment. Cooperation among the staff is essential in presenting the type of facility that is reflective of Porter Loring's standards and serves our families with the utmost in dignity and respect.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Daily:

Sweep and mop flower room/garage floor.

Perform small repairs as needed.
-
Blow debris from parking lots and remove trash from sidewalks.

Maintain flower beds, trees, shrubs.
-
Replace/repair broken/missing landscape and sign lights.
-
Sweep and mop all porches.
-
Clean leaves and debris from fountain.
-
Clean and organize chiller yard.
-
Stock bottled water in the refrigerator.
-
Iron Flags if needed
-
Organize equipment room at the end of each day.
-
Clean and dust outside window ledges and trim (biweekly)

Clean and dust spider webs off outside of building.
-
Clean outside light fixtures
-
Power wash walls and repair chipping paint
-
Put trash on curb for trash day.
-
Take trash to other locations as needed.

Hand water courtyard area.
-
Remove bees’ nest around building/courtyard as needed.
- Wipe down outside doors, frames, shutters and columns.
-
Trim vines in courtyard off o the walls, windows and sidewalk.
-
Assist with housekeeping as needed or requested.
-
Assist with landscaping as needed or requested.
-
Clean the outside of the windows.
-
Clean all woodwork and doors, touch up paint if needed.
- Polish exterior brass porch rails and kick plates on doors.

Clean and rebait rat traps.
-
Power wash and degrease center cement driveway.
-
Power wash sidewalks.
-
Vacuuming and cleaning the chapel: to be done prior to and following any service

Vacuuming and cleaning the state rooms: to be done prior to and following any ID view, private family viewing or public visitation ·

Stocking tissues, toilet paper, paper towels and filling soap dispensers in the public restrooms. Maintain throughout the day.

Strip floors every two to three months or as needed.

Assist with setting up and cleaning spaces for meetings, and or other events.

Respond to all cleaning and repair emergencies.
Job Requirements:
This list does not include all duties, more duties may be assigned on an as needed basis and at Management discretion.

Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.

Driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the work site

Excellent stamina and physical health

Janitorial or maintenance experience preferred.

Landscaping experience preferred.

Familiar with common cleaning supplies and tools

Friendly demeanor.
- Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic.
