Examples of Job Duties:
· Providing first aid to students and staff
· Management of communicable diseases in the school
· Conducting health assessments
· Conducting mandated vision and hearing screenings
· Performing specialized health care procedures such as GT feedings, as necessary
· Training and direction of unlicensed staff
Certification, Education and Experience Requirements:
· Hold, or qualify for, a California School Nurse Services credential (see www.ctc.ca.gov)
· Possess a California registered nurse license;
· Hold CPR/First Aid certification
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
· One (1) or more years TK-12 school nursing experience, OR two (2) years of nursing experience in the private sector
· Knowledge of California immunization requirements for school-entry
· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community of students, staff and parents
· Possession of a valid Drivers’ License, and Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier
