SUMMARY: Purchases materials, equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Runs MRP and evaluate what items need to be ordered. Follows through to make sure these items are delivered on a timely basis.
- Maintains orders for bags, works with New Model to place order for new bag items.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Receive and assist in verifying orders that come from GA plant.
- Work with others in Production Control office to maintain accurate inventory of DSPS/JSPS items.
- Places orders for wooden pallets as needed.
- Prepares purchase orders for wooden pallets as needed.
- Prepares purchase orders.

Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source or trouble and take corrective action.
- Expedites delivery of goods to users.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate general PC fundamentals and working knowledge of MS Office software.
