Premier Project Management provides architectural and design, procurement, engineering development and project management services to hotels, multi-family, student housing and adaptive re-use project types. This includes implementing capital improvements for properties owned by Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) and Braemar Hotels and Resorts (NYSE: BHR) and other 3rd Party ownership groups.
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for developing initial design concepts for a variety of project types that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and within budget for clients, including space planning and color schemes.
A Sr. Interior Designer should meet the requirements as outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed drawings and 3D models using computer-aided design (CAD/Revit) software to visualize design plans.
- Select and specify furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and materials, coordinating with vendors and suppliers for procurement.
- Coordinate the internal design team for a project.
- Prepare and develop drawings, models, images, and materials related to the design.
- Understand the basics of the hospitality industry and apply them to projects.
- Stay abreast of changing trends in design and the hospitality industry.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners throughout the organization, give clear direction and communicate ideas effectively.
- Analyze scope and budgets and with input from the team, make adjustments, and develop design solutions to meet scope and budget.
- Work with project managers, hotel engineers and other internal partners to gain information needed for documentation of a project.
- Possess the ability to visualize and create a space not only as it relates to furniture and finishes, but to the space's shape and interior architectural details.
- Perform field verification with the appropriate supporting documentation.
- Accurately perform quantity take-offs and create budgets to assist our internal partners.
- Space plan by hand sketching or using CAD.
- Prepare design presentations for Ownership and the hotel Brands using a combination of sketches, Bluebeam, CAD/Revit, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and other industry standard programs.
- Possess extensive familiarity with local and national vendors for furniture, fabrics and architectural materials, and hold responsibility for the selection of these items.
- Communicate/Present to Brand design representatives and track comments and approvals.
- Develop and prepare FF&E specifications using the SPEXX program.
- Prepare construction documents, working hand-in-hand with Project Architects and external consultants to create, coordinate and execute design packages, including but limited to plans, elevations, millwork drawings, material selections and specifications required for construction.
- Develop understanding of interior construction means, methods and procedures, building and accessibility codes, and use them in the overall design process to develop code compliant solutions.
- Participate in the construction administration of projects and reviews of submittals, review submittals, shop drawings and answer RFI's to meet the expectation of the client's needs.
- Assist internal partners by attending project pre-bid and or FF&E installations.
- Attending and participating in project conference calls.
- Communicate with internal partners regularly throughout the project.
- Exhibit organization and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Participate in office activities, initiatives and learning programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree for interior design or architecture with a minimum 3 years of experience
- NCIDQ certification is strongly preferred
- Comfortable with personal responsibility and accountability and embraces open communication and collaboration.
- Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to communicate both verbally and graphically to many personality types.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Bluebeam (Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Photoshop) and SPEXX.
- Ability to travel.
