Job Summary: Join our team as a Maintenance Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. Working under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Senior Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Company equipment and facilities. This position requires the ability to perform a variety of tasks, often independently, to support our maintenance and construction department. Candidates must pass any necessary physical ability tests.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and Repair: Address issues with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems associated with Company facilities and equipment, including automated foundry equipment, hydraulic valves and cylinders, belt conveyor systems, pneumatic transport devices, and large industrial mixers.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep Company equipment in optimal condition.
- Piping Installation: Occasionally thread and install air and water piping.
- Equipment Restoration: Restore equipment functionality as needed.
- Independent Work: Execute tasks with minimal direct supervision.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed safely, without posing risks to coworkers.
- Electrical Repairs: Conduct basic electrical repairs as required.
- Welding: Perform minor welding operations when necessary.
- Training: Assist in training new employees.
- Additional Duties: Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical work.
- Forklift driving certification or ability to pass certification test.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's degree, trade school, or apprenticeship program highly desirable.
- Effective communication skills in English preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to safely operate various machines and equipment, including hand/power tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, man-lifts, pipe threaders, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, and push.
- Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Work in various weather and temperature conditions.
- Drive for up to 1 hour.
- Reach above shoulder level for 2.5 to 5.5 hours.
- Stand for up to 7 hours.
- Lift for 2.5 to 5.5 hours.
- Carry items for up to 2.5 hours.
- Walk for up to 7 hours.
- Bend/stoop for 2.5 to 5.5 hours.
- Squat and crouch for up to 2.5 hours.
