The Automation Technician works with engineers and maintenance to identify and solve issues with automated equipment in production, coordinates robotic maintenance and repairs, and streamlines communications programming between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and robots. The Automation Technician plays a critical role as part of the Automation Engineering group, helping to optimize cycle times of existing production programs, coordinating machine service calls and preventative maintenance, responding to automation alerts, and working with Engineers to modernize existing equipment.
RESPONSIBILTIES:

Work with Engineers to design, specify, and implement electrical control systems
- Work with Engineers to design and implement mechanical systems and fixtures for use in automated applications

Troubleshoot utilizing robot programs, PLC ladder logic, HMIs, and CNC equipment

Work with mentors and teams to solve problems to improve manufacturing processes

Improve system designs for better safety and production efficiency

Develop and execute in-house testing procedures

Perform data collection and analysis
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree in Industrial Electronics, a computer-related field, or a mechanical field plus a minimum of 6 months experience, or, an equivalent combination of related work experience and education.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Autodesk Inventor
- 2+ years of Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc Robots, and/or HAAS CNCs experience, required
