Position Description.
Self-sufficient individual contributor reporting to the Head of US service Procurement in the US for SE’s Gas Services business to Lead and support a variety of projects associated with optimizing machined & auxiliary components used on gas turbines & upskill extended team of procurement specialists.
Responsibilities
· Analyzing and discussing technical specifications, in cooperation with Engineering, Quality & commodity professionals.
· Support team members in initial assessment and development of suppliers from a technological view in collaboration with Procurement & Quality professionals.
· Proactively shares knowledge in a systematic way with the immediate procurement team (~30) to grow know-how base and supports a learning organization.
· Influence (Workflow/People) Provide specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff.
· Identifying regional suppliers, for assigned group of commodities, semi-products, services portfolio, either directly or indirectly used in Gas Turbines primarily, steam and Generator as secondary and tertiary focus.
· Support Preparation of sourcing decisions with team members, interface partners to incorporate technological know-how and safeguard security strategies.
· Participates in workgroups and works in projects to stay informed, keep others informed and exert influence at an early stage.
· Deploys Procurement strategy in their assigned projects according to superior strategy.
· Significantly Contributes to overarching SCM/ Procurement programs and initiatives.
· Quantifies risks & incorporates recommended risk management measures.
Experience, Qualifications & skills
· 15/20+ years of experience in gas turbine manufacturing industry including.
o Estimate product development / manufacturing based on evaluation of engineering drawings and /or samples and / or supplier capabilities.
o Supply chain.
o Strong understanding of commercial materials used for manufacturing gas turbine parts & their potential substitutes.
o Strong knowledge of end to end needs for Product manufacturing.
o Ability to understand & discuss Engineering drawings for manufacturing.
o Knowledge of Machine shops in the US
o Knowledge of Other suppliers of relevant system and subcomponent manufacturers in the industry.
o Leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated.
o Engineering degree
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $53.00 - $72.00 per hour
